Got this for my 5 yo and our 12 yo helped put it together for him. He's been playing with it going on 4 weeks now since purchased. Here are the good, the bad, and the verdict when I asked him.THE GOOD- He said "I love it" ?- Good material and quality- Very fun to play with. Even I want to play with it haha- Intricate to build and very nice looking once done- It's a completely different look and feel than that of legos which is good to have other less expensive options for kids and parentsTHE BAD- Left back wheel is very fragile and easily comes offTHE VERDICT:Will re-purchaseThis is the coolest toy ever. I purchased it for my 12 year old grandson who tends to be bored when he comes to visit. What he really loves is building things, and seeing how they work.This is the perfect form of entertainment for any child who enjoys that sort of thing. Oh... and also for me.Honestly, I would love to open this up and start building. It's so intrigued me, sitting here with the detailed photos of the airplane on one side of the box, and the tank truck on the other.Looking at the pics you can see how brilliant this thing is. You notice little things like the fact that the rims from the truck somehow become the jet turbines and prop engines on the airplane. It's totally cool, and I'm jealous.There are 361 pieces in this kit, and I can only suggest that it's clearly not for every child, and certainly not for every age. You should give it to kids who love this sort of thing, and they will be enthralled for hours. Watching my grandson I'm amazed at how focused and driven he becomes while building something like this.Not long ago (about 3-4 years) we purchased THOUSANDS of Lego blocks and accessories to entertain him when he visits. He loves them, and incredibly, still spends hours on them.It's clear to me that this set is the natural evolution from that. It's genius.This toy offers construction, deconstruction and reconstruction fun! Putting together the set takes a couple hours but then kids take it apart and follow the second diagram to turn the same pieces into something else. Two for one. Hours of fun and concentration. ??My kids love legos and this is a great option as well. The instructions were detailed and easy to follow. This is a great set to build. My 10 year old son had fun and was able to build this on his own, but he's very into sets like this.
